Lions & Springboks

Lions & Springboks One Loft Racing

Lions and Springboks was an idea put together by four like-minded fanciers, with a passion for one loft racing. Although the fanciers all raced to their own lofts with success, all could see that the shift was starting to move away from conventional club and federation racing to one loft racing.
Although syndicates are nothing new, the founders wanted to look at the possibility of having races to target all through the year. As one of the founders, Paul Stokes of Hillcrest Stud, had recently located to South Africa, he was familiar with the program of European one loft races as well as becoming more familiar with South African one lofts.
Although still in its infancy, the syndicate have already competed in the Allflight Carnival loft summer race, and the Cape Town International one loft race.
A busy program is already lined up with birds already prepared for the Carnival Winter race, the Winners flight race, The RPRA race, Wild Atlantic way race, Pride of the Potteries and depending on travel arrangements the Algarve race.
Birds for South African races are bred by Hillcrest Stud, Rudy Jafta, and Myles Murray, birds for European races are bred by John Ghent of Foxstone Stud.
As the outlook and passion for one loft racing grows, the syndicate will investigate races in the USA and Thailand as well as any other worldwide races that warrant an interest.
Are you interested in one loft racing? Want to know more about our proposition?
If the answer to either question is yes, then please get in touch, you can contact Hillcrest Stud via the contact us page, or you can find us on Facebook.
We can offer various options to you, for example from time to time we open up the syndicate for various races, and will offer equal shares to other potential syndicate members. Alternatively if you want to enter a race in your own right either in Europe or South Africa but do not have the facility to breed the birds or ship them, then let us know and one of our founding members can supply birds for you.
